Resistance training (Goldman)
The above video explains the necessity of exercise and particularly resistance training for slowing the aging process and maintaining health at any age.
As the video points out, exercise is appropriate for just about anyone of any age. Resistance training helps maintain muscle strength and endurance and enhances bone strength. Without exercise, most people will gradually lose muscle strenght and tone as they age, and this leads to a decline in physical ability in later life. The good news is that it’s never too late to start an exercise program and to build strength. By starting now, you can begin seeing substantial benefits in as little as a few weeks.
If you’re not sure where to begin, most communities have at least a few exercise facilities with classes and/or individual instruction geared toward beginners and older individuals who want to start an exercise program. Start slow and gradually build up your workouts and I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much better you feel and look in the days ahead.
Good luck!
